Ballooningmedia Teams fly at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta
Despite challenging conditions which saw a number of balloons grounded and deciding not to fly, Trigger G-BIBO & G-BWKV took to the skies on the 32nd Bristol International Balloon Festival. The Team took to the skies on the Friday morning known as the Media day flying slot the flight took the balloon over Bristol before landing at Hengrove Park. This year’s festival is under new leadership and this proved to be very successful despite the weather conditions.
There was also a few celebrations on the team as well, Pilot Douglas Hoddinott celebrated his 23rd Birthday during the events and the balloon Trigger (G-BIBO) celebrated being 30 during the event.
Despite the lack of flying the team made some noticeable appearances on the news including TV, Radio Websites, and even front page coverage on local Papers, the team even got a mention on the festival PA system due to our celebrations during our event.

Early morning sunrise over Bristol
This morning saw Trigger balloon team take off on a special flight over the city Bristol. At around 5:51am the team took to the skies half hour before Sunrise to try and capture the Sunrise over Bristol from 2000ft. Preperation was Key and before the flight we had to seek special permission from Bristol Airport to fly at the height of 2000ft. We also had to be very careful when setting up the balloon as it was almost pitch black in Ashton Court and when taking off the balloon was seen over the city as a massive lightbulb when the burner was on. However the sunrise eluded us as the cloud on the horizon stop us seeing the sunrise, but we still took some brilliant pictures from the flight which also took us over the city of Bath as an added bonus.
Pictures to follow.
